The Procrastinator's Last Minute Guide to Experiencing Flavor! Napa Valley

Tickets are selling fast for this year’s Flavor! Napa Valley, the region’s third annual food and wine festival being held November 20-24. Now is the time to grab any last tickets, and below is a cheat sheet to the top events with tickets still available, as well as a few notes on accommodations offerings.

The festival begins on Wednesday morning, November 20, with a series of Terroir to Table™ Farm, Cellar and Kitchen experiences. From pasta making to bee keeping, wine blending, organic gardening, foraging, grapeseed oil production and more, Terror to Table™ offers an intimate, hands-on and behind the scenes peek into Napa Valley artisan food and winemaking. First Taste Napa, Wednesday evening’s amuse bouche to the festival is a culinary stroll through downtown Napa’s historic streets now brimming with new and notable eateries and tasting rooms. Taste signature bites from a number of participating restaurants, and enjoy special prix fixe dinner menus created to celebrate the festival kickoff.

Gastronomes can enroll themselves for a weekend filled with demonstrations and tastings, featuring a who’s who of the culinary world such as Michael ChiarelloRoy ChoiScott ConantChristopher KostowMasaharu MorimotoCindy PawlcynTodd English, offering immersions into ingredients and techniques sure to create better chefs and memorable dishes at home.

Wine lovers are also in for a treat and can choose from a variety of oeno-themed events, including a Wine Lovers Boot Camp at The Culinary Institute of America in St. Helena, Top Taster™ blind tasting competition hosted by Andrea Robinson, and several retrospective tastings taking place in celebration of Napa Valley’s iconic wineries such as Cakebread CellarsRobert Mondavi, and Louis M. Martini – all names that are part of the lore of the Valley. 

A few seats are still available at Flavor’s two flagship dinners, where guests can cozy up to many of the world’s top wine and food luminaries. Thursday’s Welcome Dinner features six top chefs, including Roy Choi and Todd English, and honors five Napa Valley wineries celebrating milestones such as Grgich Hills Estate and Chandon. Saturday’s Dinner with Napa Valley Winemakers offers a chance to share a table with one of the valley’s most talented vintners representing wineries such as Brown Estate, Parallel Napa Valley and The Hess Collection Winery.

To cap off a memorable weekend, the Terroir to Table™ Sustainable Brunch provides a chance to connect with new friends, trade stories and enjoy some final culinary delights, focusing on Napa Valley’s artisan growers and producers that demonstrates their commitment to health and the earth.

Festival-goers can also take advantage of one of the remaining Concierge Packages, which include accommodations and exclusive Flavor! welcome amenities, as well as tickets to two signature events.
